<dc:description>
The videos shows the behaviors of nest construction and the feeding of the nestling, by the species Aprositornis disjuncta, The Yapacana Antbird.

Abstract: The Yapacana Anbird (Aprositornis disjuncta), is a member of the family Thamnophilidae with a restricted distribution to dense woodland on seasonally waterlogged white-sand soils in E Colombia, SW Venezuela, and NW Brazil. Its secretive nature has resulted in poor documentation of reproductive behavior. During a birding tour in August 2026, a male and female were encountered collecting nesting materials and beginning to construct a nest. The nest consisted of a low cup with a lateral attachment between two saplings, externally resembling plant debris in the understory. It contained two white eggs with all-around reddish-brown spots and thin streaks. Only one nestling was found, and it was predated before abandoning the nest. We took measurements of the nest and eggs using scaled photographs, and made observations of construction, incubation, brooding, and feeding behavior of both parents. We compared the general characteristics of the nest and eggs with the other members of the Microrhopiini clade. This documentation is part of the work led by the communities in the area and serves as proof that the constant dialogue between academia and local nature guides is an opportunity to document important life history details of birds.
</dc:description>
