Bridging Education and Practice: Evaluating a Design Coding Collaboration Rob Richardson (25316487) Urban design Regulatory planning and development assessment Public participation and community engagement Higher education Professional education and training Urban design Urban design education Design code Education-practice collaboration Professional education <p dir="ltr">This research aimed to evaluate the process and impact of a design coding collaboration between Manchester Urban Design Lab (MUD-Lab) at the University of Manchester, and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council. Through the extra-curricular project, MUD-Lab students contributed area analysis work to the development of a borough-wide design code for Stockport, giving them first-hand experience of planning and urban design practice in this context. This research studied participant insights into the process and outcomes of the project, and considered the ways in which the project delivered social value for the different stakeholders and organisations involved. The dataset includes transcripts of a focus group and five interviews which were collect as part of this evaluation.
