<dc:description>
This dataset provides paired meteorological time series and station-associated local climate zone (LCZ) patches assembled for calibration and evaluation of the urban thermal component of the Coupled Energy-Thermal Urban Simulator (CETUS). It links urban-station air-temperature records with corresponding background meteorological forcing and spatial data describing the surrounding urban fabric.

The current release contains 35 urban-station locations in China, with seven locations in each of five built LCZ classes: LCZ1, LCZ2, LCZ3, LCZ4 and LCZ5. Spatial patches are provided at two neighbourhood scales, organised in the
500m
and
1000m
directories.

The dataset comprises:

Paired meteorological data (
weather.zip
). The
truth
directory contains hourly urban-station temperature records with calendar fields and the temperature variable
TEM
. The
boundary/csv
directory contains 35 paired forcing files corresponding to 34 unique background locations; filenames identify the urban and background station IDs. Boundary forcing was retrieved from the Open-Meteo Historical Forecast API and covers 1 April–30 September 2025 in UTC, with 4,392 hourly records per file. Variables include air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction, surface pressure, shortwave and diffuse radiation, and precipitation. UTC and Asia/Shanghai timestamps, derived variables, quality-control flags and retrieval documentation are included. The boundary series are gridded meteorological products sampled at the specified locations.

LCZ spatial patches (
500m
and
1000m
). Each directory contains separate archives for LCZ1–LCZ5, including GeoTIFF layers for building heights, vegetation cover and water cover. The 1000m archives additionally contain vector layers and preview images.

Station metadata and processing files. The
stationInfo.csv
tables link station identifiers and coordinates to climate-zone labels, LCZ classes and urban morphology descriptors. The package also includes LCZ-grouped temperature reference tables in the 1000m directory and Python scripts for spatial processing and model-input preparation.

These data support the preparation of neighbourhood-scale thermal model inputs and comparison of simulated canopy air temperatures with station temperature records. The release focuses on meteorological forcing, temperature references and urban spatial characteristics; hourly building electricity, cooling-load and heat-flux measurements are outside its scope.
</dc:description>
