<dc:description><p>The reading-to-pedagogy gap in universities and universities of education reveals the necessity for integrated approaches in the understanding instruction in higher education. In this study, the Four-Method Pedagogical Framework (4MPF) incorporating metacognitive strategy training, morphological awareness training, collaborative dialogic reading, and technology-instructive adaptive feedback was researched. An explanatory sequential mixed-methods design was used, with a 12-week randomized controlled intervention with 147 undergraduate students, and further qualitative inquiry to clarify and clarify the quantitative results. The 4MPF yielded significantly higher reading comprehension gains than traditional instruction (p < .001; Cohen's d = 0.82). Partial statistical mediation was confirmed as there were significant indirect effects via metacognitive regulation and morphological awareness, and a significant direct effect was perceived. A qualitative analysis resulted in four explanatory themes: cognitive empowerment, lexical confidence, dialogic friction, and feedback dependency. The results indicate that the 4MPF is an effective integrated instructional package, and that metacognitive and morphological processes are potential mechanisms that underline reading acquisitions. More studies are needed to differentiate the role and interplay of the individual framework components.</p></dc:description>
