<dc:description>Additional file 7: Tables S1–S6. An overview of all samples subjected to transcriptome sequencing (Table S1; E-MTAB-16117) and small RNA sequencing (Table S2; E-MTAB-15069). For each sample, read count and mapping statistics are provided. The two samples marked as outlier were not used in the analyses because of poor clustering (Fig. S2). Table S3 is an overview of the small RNA samples in which a more detailed output is given for the mapping statistics on the G. pallida Rookmaker genome. Table S4 contains an overview of the 204 differentially expressed genes, including GO annotations, their best informative BLASTp hits. When DEGs are a predicted target of any of the sex-biased miRNAs, the miRNA is indicated. Table S5 contains the BLASTp hits of components of the Caenorhabditis elegans sex determination pathway on four cyst nematode genomes. BLASTp hits with an identity over 25% and a query coverage over 50% were considered homologs. Table S6 contains an overview of the five sex-biased miRNAs found in this study, including their position, sequences, the number of putative targets, and their closest homolog.</dc:description>
