<dc:description><p>Technostress and burnout are two factors established to affect the well-being of electronic resources librarians in the state university libraries in South–South, Nigeria. Nigeria’s South–South zone is a critical research location because its unique infrastructural deficits, such as unstable power and poor internet, distinguish it from more commonly studied environments. In total, 31 electronic resources librarians were screened across 13 state university libraries in South–South Nigeria, and 26 met the inclusion criteria and were selected for qualitative interviews. Data were elicited using a semi-structured interview and analyzed using the Miles et al. framework involving data condensation, data display, and drawing conclusions/verification. The findings revealed that technostress and burnout are mainly caused by job demands, excessive workload, prolonged use of technology, infrastructural constraints, and rapid technological changes, among others. The findings further indicate that technostress and burnout negatively affect the well-being of librarians in the libraries examined. In terms of coping, librarians predominantly rely on personal approaches such as taking breaks, time management, and relaxation techniques since institutional support systems are lacking. It was recommended that management facilitate internal peer-mentoring circles, implement clear, transparent communication protocols regarding policy changes, and provide basic ergonomic training to enhance librarians’ well-being.</p></dc:description>
