<dc:description>Controlling the biodistribution of drug molecules through chemical design, even at the cost of potency, offers significant advantages in both safety and efficacy by limiting off-target toxicities or increasing drug exposure in the target tissue. This thesis focuses on the localised delivery of chemically modified drug candidates for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. In this effort, we have identified three potent gut-restricted ALK5 inhibitors that are suitable to pursue further analysis in disease models.<p></p></dc:description>
