<dc:subject>Work Motivation Job Satisfaction Job Performance, Elementary Teachers, Strategic Intervention, Philippines</dc:subject>
          <dc:description>
This study examined the work motivation and job satisfaction of elementary teachers in Los Baños and their influence on job performance, with the aim of developing a strategic intervention to enhance teacher effectiveness. Specifically, it sought to determine the levels of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, assess job satisfaction, evaluate job performance over the past three years, identify problems encountered, and measure the acceptability of the proposed intervention. The study utilized a descriptive-correlational research design. The primary instrument was a structured questionnaire adapted from validated tools and aligned with the Department of Education’s performance standards. Data were analyzed using weighted means, standard deviations, Pearson correlation, and significance tests.

The findings revealed that teachers possess very high intrinsic motivation, particularly in achievement, competence, responsibility, creativity, recognition, and empowerment, while extrinsic factors such as relationships with colleagues, management commitment, work conditions, and organizational climate were rated high to very high. Teachers’ job performance was very satisfactory, with higher-ranked and more experienced teachers achieving outstanding levels. A significant positive relationship was found between work motivation and job satisfaction (η = 0.680, p = 0.000), and both variables were positively correlated with job performance. Challenges identified included heavy workload, limited professional growth opportunities, lack of recognition, limited involvement in decision-making, and inadequate access to technology. The proposed strategic intervention was perceived as highly acceptable, effective, and feasible, indicating its potential to improve motivation, satisfaction, and performance.

Based on the findings, it is recommended that school administrators implement recognition programs, provide professional development, involve teachers in decision-making, and address workload and resource concerns, while the Department of Education ensures supportive policies and access to instructional technology. The intervention may serve as a model for enhancing teacher motivation and performance in similar contexts.
</dc:description>
