<dc:description>
Mixed Reality (MR) can support visualization, coordination, inspection, and safety in construction, yet sustained adoption remains uneven. This study re-examines cross-sectional survey evidence from 100 construction professionals on perceived MR implementation costs and benefits. The revised interpretation is deliberately exploratory. Users reported lower perceived Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) cost than non-users (M = 3.10 versus 3.82) and higher perceived productivity benefit (M = 3.79 versus 3.09), whereas the original five-level usage-frequency score showed a modest negative linear association with productivity perception (r=-0.272, p = 0.006). These statistics answer different questions and do not establish a decline-and-recovery trajectory. Professional role was associated with initial hardware-cost perception, F(2,96)=4.99, p = 0.009, with the Design/Digital group reporting the highest mean. In response to the limits of a sample of 100 and a cross-sectional, self-selected design, the MR Realism Curve is therefore reframed as a conceptual proposition rather than an empirically validated temporal model. The proposition integrates technology-acceptance research with organizational-learning theory and identifies pre-adoption expectations, early-use recalibration, and a mature-use hypothesis for future longitudinal testing. The findings support cautious expectation management while emphasizing the need for larger, longitudinal, and probability-based studies.
</dc:description>
