<dc:description>

Distinguishing between learning difficulties and developmental learning disorders represents a central challenge in contemporary educational and psychological research, given the diagnostic and intervention challenges that arise from the lack of conceptual clarity. This issue is particularly pronounced in the Moroccan educational context, where conceptual and methodological confusion between the two phenomena persists, and general approaches dominate classroom practices, while the neurocognitive perspective remains limited in understanding and diagnosis. This article aims to examine the conceptual and neurocognitive foundations underlying the distinction between learning difficulties and developmental learning disorders, and to analyze how this distinction is addressed in psychological and educational studies. It also seeks to highlight areas of convergence and divergence between the two concepts and to explore the implications for psycho-educational diagnostic models and educational interventions. Furthermore, the article focuses on identifying the cognitive and methodological gaps that continue to limit the application of this distinction in educational practices, especially within contexts facing structural challenges, such as the Moroccan school system. Ultimately, the study aspires to contribute to the development of a coherent theoretical framework that supports the improvement of diagnostic and educational practices and promotes the integration of the neurocognitive perspective in understanding learning difficulties and developmental learning disorders.

</dc:description>
