<dc:description>

Demon was created as part of Menopause Poetics, a creative research project that explores women's lived experiences of menopause through poetry and film. Drawing on first-hand testimonies and conversations with women, the project transforms lived experience into poetic texts that form the foundation for a series of poetry films, creating space for reflection, visibility and dialogue around menopause. This poetry film evolved from a one-to-one collaboration with a woman living with menopause. Through a series of conversations, we co-created a poem that became the starting point for the film, shaping both its narrative and emotional landscape. The creative process centred lived experience, allowing personal testimony to guide the work. In Conversation explores the anxiety that can arise during menopause, particularly in encounters with healthcare professionals during menopause, when some women feel unheard or dismissed. Combining poetry, voice and moving image, the film highlights the importance of listening to women's experiences and contributes to wider conversations about menopause, healthcare and advocacy. Menopause Poetics was designed and led by Dr Helen Foster for the Stoneygate Centre for Empathic Healthcare at the University of Leicester, funded by a grant from the Economic and Social Research Council.

</dc:description>
