'Mad Old Bag' - poetry film for Menopause Poetics Helen Foster (20980112) Creative arts and writing Health sciences menopause poetry poetry film oral history <p dir="ltr">Mad Old Bag was created as part of Menopause Poetics, a creative research project that explores women's lived experiences of menopause through poetry and film. Drawing on first-hand testimonies and conversations with women, the project transforms lived experience into poetic texts that form the foundation for a series of poetry films, creating space for reflection, visibility and dialogue around menopause. Using words and phrases found in The Silent Archive, a collection of oral histories about menopause, gathered between 2020 and 2021 and in the care of the East Midlands Oral History Archive at the University of Leicester, Mad Old Bag explores how society sees menopausal women and how menopausal women see themselves.
