<dc:description>
Structural interoperability models for environmental IoT are typically validated by demonstration : an architecture is built, it functions at a given scale, and its designers infer that it scales. This article argues that such inference is unsound, and replaces it with deductive validation. We state five postulates drawn from an existing conceptual framework for structural interoperability in environmental IoT typed observations, contract-bound transformations, a common temporal substrate, finite node resources, and progressive coherence decay and derive from them five results concerning dense deployments. The derivations yield three counter-intuitive conclusions. First, hierarchical synchronization can hold per-node message cost constant while coherence degrades through accumulated path length, so that a protocol reported as scalable in accuracy may still be scaling in unmeasured error. Second, the capacity available per node for coherence maintenance necessarily shrinks with density, because per-node throughput under interference declines aswhile the synchronization budget is drawn from the same finite capacity. Third, pairwise semantic mediation is combinatorially infeasible, since it requirescorrespondences and therefore hub-based mediation is not a design preference but a deductive necessity. We confront these predictions with measurement evidence from large-scale deployments, capacity analyses, and synchronization studies, and identify which are confirmed, which remain untested, and which contradict reports in the literature. The result is a testable specification for scalability claims in environmental IoT.

</dc:description>
