<dc:description>
This document provides supplemental material for the manuscript (Acta Cirurgica Brasileira, 2026). It is organized into four sections: (1) the STROBE reporting checklist with item-level cross-references to the main text; (2) Supplemental Methods, including data source descriptions (Table S1) and software and R package documentation (Table S2); (3) Supplemental Results, comprising state-level hospitalization data stratified by sex, age, and race/color (Table S3), colorblind-friendly choropleth maps (Figure S1), univariate and bivariate Global Moran’s I scatterplots (Figure S2), the SaTScan temporal cluster visualization (Figure S3), and sensitivity analyses for the combined 2023–2024 period (Figure S4); and (4) Supplemental References. All analyses were conducted in accordance with the pre-registered protocol available at the Open Science Framework (OSF).
</dc:description>
