<dc:description><p dir="ltr">Ketosis is a major metabolic disease in lactating dairy cows characterized by elevated circulating concentrations of ketone bodies, including β-hydroxybutyrate (BHB). Although studies have demonstrated the association between ketosis and impaired reproductive performance of lactating cows, the mechanisms of this adverse relationship are not fully defined. This study aimed to investigate the association between elevated milk β-hydroxybutyrate (EMB) during 3–30 days in milk (DIM), and ovarian activity, assessed using milk progesterone (P4) profiles within 80 DIM in Canadian Holstein cows.</p></dc:description>
