<dc:description>
Most of what a person values was not discovered but handed to them, by parents, teachers, peers, traditions and institutions, long before any of it could be tested. This paper formalizes how that works within the Language of Stress, a value-primitive theory of consciousness, and what happens when the source it was handed through fails.

It supplies the three definitions that the constraint map for the framework, What a Value Primitive Forbids, calls for. Definition 1: an archetype is borrowed to the extent that its place in the topography depends on valenced experience of a source rather than contact with what it concerns. Definition 2: an archetype sits on a borrowed scaffold to the extent that its place would not survive the failure of the scaffold's sources, and beside it to the extent that it depends on contact. Definition 3: an audit is the comparison of a borrowed archetype with later contact with what it concerns.

The paper adds one device, the open-ended source archetype of delegation, and otherwise specializes the constraint map's shared-element and dependency principles. It locates the framework's stakes-confidence dissociation in delegated content, where confidence belongs to the content and the stakes belong to the source, and it distinguishes two sustainers of a source's authority, direct standing and dependency, which can come apart.

Seven empirical transfers are stated with their failure conditions, and each failure is assigned to the claim it would damage. Nothing here is evidence. Five of the transfers need dependency on a source estimated before the outcome, and no measure of dependency yet exists; the other two need at most an ordinal reading of rigidity. The paper says so. It is not a theory of politics, religion or groups, and it offers no guidance.

Supplementary material for Pace, J.C. (2026), The Language of Stress: A Value-Primitive Theory of Consciousness.
</dc:description>
