<dc:description>
In this study, the phytochemical profile, antioxidant activity, enzyme inhibitory effects, and molecular docking properties of the methanol extract obtained from the aerial parts of Salvia longipedicellata were investigated. The total phenolic and flavonoid contents of the extract were determined as 57.06 mg GAE/g and 23.50 mg RE/g extract, respectively. HPLC–DAD analysis revealed that (-)-epicatechin, hesperetin, trans-caffeic acid, and chlorogenic acid were the major phytochemical constituents. The extract exhibited strong antioxidant activity in DPPH, ABTS, CUPRAC, FRAP, phosphomolybdenum, and metal chelating assays. It also showed inhibitory effects against acetylcholinesterase, tyrosinase, α-amylase, and α-glucosidase enzymes. Molecular docking studies suggested that epicatechin and hesperetin possessed strong binding affinities towards the selected target enzymes. The findings indicate that S. longipedicellata is a promising natural source of bioactive compounds with potential antioxidants, neuroprotective, antidiabetic, and anti-hyperpigmentation properties.

Flowchart illustrating the experimental workflow for *Salvia longipedicellata* extract processing and subsequent antioxidant, enzyme inhibition, HPLC analysis, and molecular docking studies.The figure presents a flowchart depicting an experimental workflow. It begins with an image of the plant *Salvia longipedicellata* at the top left. An arrow points from the plant to an Erlenmeyer flask containing a dark reddish-brown liquid. From this flask, an arrow leads to a rotary evaporator, which in turn points to a central red circle labeled "Extracts." This central "Extracts" node branches into three distinct experimental pathways. The first pathway points rightward to a stack of laboratory equipment labeled "HPLC analysis," from which an arrow descends to a blue and green 3D molecular structure labeled "Molecular docking studies." The second pathway from "Extracts" points downward to a white 96-well microtiter plate. Below the plate is a small graph with "Absorbance" on the y-axis and "Analyte (pg/ml)" on the x-axis, showing an upward-sloping sigmoid curve. This section is labeled "Enzyme inhibitory activity." The third pathway from "Extracts" points downward to an image of a hand pipetting liquid from a test tube (labeled "1.0mL" and "1:10") into a rack of five test tubes showing a gradient of red colors. Below this, an arrow points to a laboratory instrument, and this entire section is labeled "Antioxidant assays." The arrows visually guide the viewer through the sequential steps of the experimental process.
</dc:description>
