<dc:description><p dir="ltr">Parents of children requiring home tube feeding often report insufficient informational support, while clinicians face challenges providing consistent guidance. This study explored the mechanisms shaping informational support for paediatric home tube feeding in Aotearoa New Zealand from both caregiver and clinician perspectives. Four caregiver focus groups (n = 14) and two clinician focus groups (n = 10) were conducted and analysed using critical realism and Template Analysis. Findings were first analysed separately and then synthesised. Five interrelated factors influenced informational support: timing, caregiver factors, clinician factors, family-clinician relationships, and systemic constraints. Caregivers described limited and inconsistent information provision, prompting independent information seeking and substantial emotional labour. Clinicians expressed concerns about online misinformation but were often unaware of existing evidence-based resources and reported barriers related to fragmented care, communication, and resource availability. The synthesis suggests that strengthening clinician awareness of credible resources and routinely revisiting caregivers' evolving informational needs may improve informational support and reduce reliance on potentially unreliable information.</p></dc:description>
