<dc:description>This PhD explored how patient data collected during routine healthcare can be used to improve treatment and research for endocrine tumours, including thyroid cancer. The research reviewed inherited endocrine tumour conditions and examined how clinical registries are used worldwide. It assessed whether patients with a rare thyroid cancer were receiving care that matched best-practice guidelines and identified areas for improvement. The thesis also tested a new surgical tool, developed a standardised thyroid surgery reporting template, and combined data from multiple hospitals to study rare pathologies more effectively. Overall, the work provides practical ways to improve patient care, research quality, and health system performance.</dc:description>
