<dc:description>
Educational Psychology / School Psychology

This study belongs to the fields of educational psychology and school psychology. It takes leave-taking behavior as an important behavioral indicator of the psychological state of senior high school students. Using 379 leave records from the Class of 2023 at a high school across three consecutive semesters (Semesters 4–6), the research adopts content analysis and individual case tracking methods to examine the characteristic patterns of leave-taking behavior among senior students.

The findings show that leave-taking behavior exhibits significant “temporal clustering” around key dates. The stated reasons for leave have shifted from “specific physical symptoms” (62%) to “vague malaise” (55%), reflecting a trend toward the somatization of psychological stress. Frequently absent students can be categorized into three types: cumulative somatization type, long-term semi-detached type, and intermittent collapse type. Leave-taking behavior also demonstrates a group contagion effect.

Based on these findings, the study constructs an early warning indicator system for psychological crises, featuring a “three-tier early warning + home-school collaboration” framework. It concludes that leave data represent an underutilized resource for psychological early warning, and that schools should transition their management approach from “passive approval of leave requests” to “proactive early warning.”
</dc:description>
