<dc:description><p dir="ltr">Taking Schima superba, a native fire-resistant tree species widely distributed in subtropical forests of China, as the core object, this study broke through the limitations of traditional laboratory in vitro testing, and built 12 field positioning test plots with different ages and configuration modes in Sanming Jiangle state-owned forest farm, Fujian Province, China. Through three years of controlled combustion test and long-term positioning observation, the fire resistance threshold of Schima superba stands was systematically quantified, and the full life cycle economic value accounting system covering three dimensions of "disaster prevention and mitigation benefits - direct economic benefits - ecosystem service benefits" was constructed. The results showed that the 16-year-old Schima superba pure forest with canopy density above 0.85 had a success rate of 92.7% in blocking surface fire, which could limit the spread distance of high-intensity crown fire to 11.3 meters; The present value of the comprehensive economic value of the Schima superba fire belt per hectare can reach 312400 yuan, which is 2.6 times that of the common timber forest of Pinus massoniana in the same area. The results of this study provide directly reusable experimental data and quantitative reference for the planning and implementation of biological fire prevention projects in subtropical forest areas and the investment decision of management entities.</p></dc:description>
