<dc:description>
Background: Little is known about how lifestyle behaviours cluster among people with young-onset dementia (YOD).
Methods: We analysed 1,009 community-dwelling people with YOD who received interRAI Home Care assessments in New Zealand between 2015 and 2020. Latent class analysis used six indicators covering physical activity, smoking, alcohol use, and social engagement. Baseline biopsychosocial characteristics were compared across classes.
Results: Four lifestyle patterns were identified: low physical activity with frequent interpersonal contact (37.1%); low physical activity and social disconnection (8.8%); physically active and socially engaged (30.8%); and higher smoking with less frequent social engagement (23.3%). Classes differed across several sociodemographic, cognitive, functional, clinical, and healthcare-use characteristics.
Conclusion: Lifestyle behaviours among people with YOD cluster into distinct patterns associated with different biopsychosocial profiles, highlighting the potential value of tailored, multidomain assessment and support.
</dc:description>
