<dc:description><p dir="ltr">The data used in this study are primarily drawn from the China Statistical Yearbook (2008–2024) and the statistical bulletins on national economic and social development issued by each province. Owing to missing data in some regions, Tibet, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan are excluded from the sample. The final sample therefore comprises a balanced panel of 30 provincial-level regions in China covering the period 2008–2024.</p></dc:description>
