<dc:description><p dir="ltr">Understanding how natural forest restoration reshapes multitrophic soil biota and how these changes are associated with soil multifunctionality remains a major challenge. We investigated a long-term natural forest restoration chronosequence in a temperate forest of northeastern China, including four restoration stages following clear-cutting in 1998, 1988, 1973, and 1959 and an undisturbed primary forest (>200 years old). We assessed plant-derived resource inputs, soil environmental conditions, and bacterial, fungal, protozoan, nematode, and arthropod communities.</p></dc:description>
