          <dc:description>&lt;p dir="ltr"&gt;Self-regulated learning (SRL) involves active, constructive processes driven by thoughts, feelings, and actions to achieve personal goals (Zimmerman, 2013). There is widespread interest in promoting SRL in primary education to set students up for academic and social success. In Aotearoa New Zealand, teachers are expected to “teach in ways that enable learners to self-regulate and to develop agency over their learning” (Education Council, 2017, p. 20). The literature demonstrates that direct, implicit, and indirect promotion of self-regulatory strategies can play a key role in developing students' SRL capabilities. This research explores the promotion of SRL strategies in the primary music classroom via a commonly taught instrument in Aotearoa New Zealand - the ukulele.&lt;/p&gt;</dc:description>
