<dc:description><p dir="ltr">During pregnancy, dams participated in a regular running exercise program throughout the gestational period. Female offspring were subsequently selected at 5 and 10 weeks of age, and their hippocampal tissues were collected for RNA sequencing (RNA-seq). Transcriptomic changes in the hippocampus were analyzed by comparing female offspring born to exercised dams with age-matched offspring born to non-exercised control dams. Differentially expressed genes and associated biological pathways were examined to characterize the effects of maternal exercise on hippocampal gene expression in the offspring. The inclusion of two postnatal ages enabled the identification of both shared and age-dependent transcriptional responses, thereby providing insight into the molecular mechanisms through which maternal exercise during pregnancy may influence hippocampal development and cognitive function in female offspring.</p></dc:description>
