<dc:description>
DATASET OVERVIEW
This dataset contains the experimental data and biomechanical results used for the estimation of femoral loading from subject-specific musculoskeletal simulations. Markerless motion capture with OpenCap was compared with an optical motion-capture reference system (MoCap).

FOLDER STRUCTURE
Data/MarkerData

Three-dimensional marker trajectories in OpenSim .trc format.

MoCap/: marker trajectories obtained using the optical motion-capture system. static.trc contains the static calibration trial.

OpenCap/: marker trajectories reconstructed from the two video views. neutral.trc contains the neutral-pose recording used for model scaling.

Data/OpenSimData
OpenSim models, kinematics, and musculoskeletal simulation results.

MoCap/

Kinematics/: joint kinematics calculated from the MoCap marker trajectories.

Model/: generic and subject-scaled OpenSim models and the corresponding scaling and marker-set files.

OpenCap/

Kinematics/: OpenCap joint kinematics for all recorded movement trials.

Model/: OpenSim models used during the OpenCap processing and dynamic simulations. The directory also contains the associated body geometries in .vtp and .stl format.

Dynamics/[trial]/: dynamically consistent musculoskeletal simulation results for each successfully processed trial:
kinematics_activations_[trial]_.mot: tracked joint kinematics and estimated muscle activations.
forces_[trial]_.mot: calculated muscle and actuator forces.
kinetics_[trial]_.mot: generalized joint moments and forces.
GRF_[trial]_.mot: forces generated by the individual foot–ground contact elements.
GRF_resultant_[trial]_.mot: resultant ground-reaction forces, centres of pressure, and torques for the left and right sides.

JointReaction/[trial]/: joint-reaction forces and moments calculated with OpenSim JointReaction Analysis:
results_JRAforMCF_...sto: reactions acting on the child bodies and expressed in their local frames.
results_JRAforMCF_parent_...sto: reactions acting on the parent bodies and expressed in their local frames.
Both variants are provided because the femur is the child body at the hip joint but the parent body at the knee and patellofemoral joints.

ForceDirections/[trial]/femur_l and femur_r: muscle attachment points and lines of action relative to the left and right femur:
*_vectors.sto: direction vectors of the individual muscle-path segments.
*_attachments.sto: corresponding attachment or via points.
*_effective_vectors.sto and *_effective_attachments.sto: effective force directions and application points after combining path segments acting on the femur.
*_MFD_full.mat: complete MATLAB export containing the muscle-force-direction results.

Accelerations/[trial]/: linear centre-of-mass accelerations and angular accelerations of both femora. These were calculated from the same state trajectories used for JointReaction Analysis and are expressed in the respective local femur coordinate system.

Data/VideoData
Video recordings and intermediate outputs of the markerless motion-capture workflow.

CalibrationImages/: images used for camera calibration.

NeutralPoseImages/: neutral-pose images and videos used for subject calibration and model scaling.

Videos/Cam0 and Videos/Cam1: recordings from the two camera views:
InputMedia/: original and converted movement recordings.
OutputMedia_1x736_2scales/: videos with detected keypoints overlaid.
OutputPkl_1x736_2scales/: serialized two-dimensional keypoint detections.
cameraIntrinsicsExtrinsics.pickle: intrinsic and extrinsic camera parameters.

VisualizerVideos/: synchronized videos with overlaid keypoints for convenient visual inspection of both camera views.

</dc:description>
