Most-reported urban issues in Türkiye: category breakdown of 1,341 citizen reports (Feb–Sep 2026) Mustafa KARA (25105981) Human geography not elsewhere classified Urban and regional planning not elsewhere classified Public administration urban issues civic technology citizen reporting open data municipal services Turkey Türkiye potholes Sidewalks CitiHero <p dir="ltr">Category breakdown of 1,341 citizen reports of urban issues submitted from Türkiye to the Şehrinin Tadı (CitiHero) platform between 14 February 2026 and 24 September 2026.</p><p><br></p><p dir="ltr">KEY FINDINGS</p><p dir="ltr">- One in two reports concerns road or sidewalk surfaces (705 of 1,341; 52.57%).</p><p dir="ltr">- The largest single category is "Roads and Pavements": 519 reports (38.70%), about 2.8 times the second category.</p><p dir="ltr">- "Sidewalks" (186) and "Waste and Cleaning" (180) are too close to rank.</p><p dir="ltr">- 4 of the 25 defined categories were never used (water outage, traffic accident, missing person, emergency help).</p><p><br></p><p dir="ltr">SCOPE</p><p dir="ltr">All reports from Türkiye not removed in moderation. Each report is counted once and has a single category, chosen by the reporting citizen (the app suggests a category from the photo; the user decides). Reports marked as solved are included; deleted, spam and rejected reports are excluded.</p><p><br></p><p dir="ltr">LIMITATIONS</p><p dir="ltr">- Shows what people report, not how common an issue is in a city. Counts are higher where the platform has more users; not representative of all municipal complaints in Türkiye.</p><p dir="ltr">- "Roads and Pavements" and "Sidewalks" overlap by name; both are shown separately and the combined figure is given in addition.</p><p dir="ltr">- No de-duplication: two people reporting the same pothole create two records.</p><p dir="ltr">- "Solved" status is not verified by municipalities.</p><p><br></p><p dir="ltr">PERSONAL DATA</p><p dir="ltr">None.
