<dc:description>
This repository contains the final data, R code, derived datasets, publication-facing figures and supplementary tables, spatial sampling information, and quality-assurance records supporting the associated Toxics manuscript “Analytical Replication Improves Precision but Does Not Create Environmental Replication: Hierarchical Uncertainty and Decision Stability in Metal(loid) Soil Exposure Screening.”

The study evaluates the consequences of analytical replication and inferential-unit choice in a hierarchical topsoil dataset from Leicester and Leicestershire, United Kingdom. The sampling and analytical hierarchy comprises 850 field increments, 26 independent site-level environmental composites, 52 physical laboratory samples, and 102 analytical determinations for As, Be, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, V and Zn.

The repository corresponds to the final Pb-corrected, singleton-safe POST-v1.4 analytical state used for the revised manuscript. It includes the reproducible correction of 16 Pb records from ICP-MS Run 2, validated handling of the Brocks Hill singleton analytical records in the R1–R4 Monte Carlo workflow, final variance-component and reproducibility outputs, effect sizes and 95% confidence intervals for urban–rural comparisons, screening-level exposure and toxicity calculations, and the final manuscript and supplementary figures and tables.

Spatial materials include the cleaned field-sampling dataset for all 850 original topsoil increments, site-level coordinates, documented park/reserve areas, and quantitative characterisation of the horizontal field-sampling footprint. Urban sites followed a predefined 25-increment cross design at approximately 2 m spacing. Rural/semi-rural sites comprised 50 spatially distributed increments, with sampling footprints derived from the recorded GPS locations.

Environmental inference throughout the study is based on the 26 independent site-level composites. Physical laboratory samples and analytical determinations are treated as nested observations and are not interpreted as additional environmental replicates.

The deposited materials include machine-readable CSV files, consolidated Excel datasets and publication tables, R scripts required for reproducibility, final figures, supplementary materials, data documentation, and a compact quality-assurance/provenance record.
</dc:description>
