<dc:description>
This dataset contains three independent original micro-CT scans of AlSi10Mg cylinders fabricated using powder bed fusion using a laser beam (PBF-LB). All three cylinders were fabricated using the same process parameters, which are: scanning speed of 1250 mm/s, hatch distance of 150 µm, and layer thickness of 50 µm. The difference is that batches 1 and 2 were fabricated with a focused beam, while batch 3 was fabricated with a negative laser beam defocus. Additionally, a stainless steel wiper blade was used for batch 1, whereas a carbon fiber wiper blade was used for batches 2 and 3. The micro-CT scans reveal defect conditions in these samples. In particular, micro-CT-based porosity analysis enables a deeper understanding of the effects of different parameters in PBF-LB fabrication of AlSi10Mg.

All details of this dataset are provided in the associated thesis (Title: Imaging and image enhancement of additive manufacturing defects) and manuscript (Title: Porosity reduction in laser powder bed fusion of AlSi10Mg through laser beam defocusing). Citation of the mentioned paper and thesis is encouraged when using this data.
</dc:description>
