Data Management Plan for "Developing a patient-reported measure of pain in early medical abortion: Patient-facing measure evaluation and psychometric validation" Matthea Roemer (22826507) Health promotion Pain Abortion person-reported outcome measure (PROM) <p dir="ltr">This Data Management Plan covers three patient-facing stages of a wider PhD project at The Open University to develop and evaluate a patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) of pain during early medical abortion (EMA). This project phase follows conceptual development and expert content review (separate DMPs submitted for each).</p><ul><li>Stage 1 will involve approximately 24-30 cognitive interviews to assess comprehension, relevance, acceptability and response processes and iteratively refine the draft measure. </li><li>Stage 2 will administer the refined measure to an independent sample of approximately 300 participants for item analysis, item reduction and exploratory factor analysis. </li><li>Stage 3 will administer the shortened measure and selected validation measures to a separate independent sample of approximately 300 participants for confirmatory factor analysis and assessment of reliability and construct validity. </li><li>Participants will take part in one stage only.</li><li>Participants will be female adults (16 years and older) who have completed an EMA through British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) within the preceding six weeks. </li><li>Recruitment and participation will be remote, using Jisc Online Surveys and, for Stage 1, Microsoft Teams.</li></ul><p></p> 2026-09-28T12:29:01Z text Data management plan 10.21954/ou.rd.33972316.v1 https://figshare.com/articles/data_management_plan/Data_Management_Plan_for_Developing_a_patient-reported_measure_of_pain_in_early_medical_abortion_Patient-facing_measure_evaluation_and_psychometric_validation_/33972316 CC BY 4.0
