<dc:description><p dir="ltr">his dataset supports the manuscript “Methane-influenced burial overprints paleoceanographic controls on pyrite sulfur isotope records”. It contains source data for the main and supplementary figures, the AMS-14C chronology and piecewise age model for Core CSHC-4, the cleaned core-level geochemical dataset, statistical-analysis tables, and Python code reproducing the key reported correlations. Core CSHC-4 was recovered from the western continental slope of the middle Okinawa Trough and spans approximately 0.98–44.81 ka BP. The dataset includes chromium-reducible sulfur (CRS), bulk pyrite δ34S, organic-carbon variables, major- and trace-element data, Mo and U enrichment factors, elemental Fe/Al, sedimentation rate, depositional-age assignments, and present-day porewater-zone classifications. The repository documents the data and calculations supporting the interpretation that most pyrite sulfur mass formed early, whereas a comparatively small sulfur component acquired or exchanged under progressively sulfate-restricted, methane-influenced burial conditions can exert strong leverage on bulk pyrite δ34S. Published carbonate δ13C values are retained only as an independent contextual constraint and are attributed to Li et al. (2024); present-day porewater zonation is based on Miao et al. (2022). Raw porewater concentration profiles are not redistributed here.</p></dc:description>
