<dc:description><p dir="ltr">Gastrointestinal motility disorders affect millions of people worldwide and are frequently associated with abnormalities in the slow wave activity that coordinates digestion. The duodenum plays a critical role in digestive function, with slow wave activity contributing to the regulation of gastric emptying, intestinal transit, and nutrient absorption. Consequently, targeted modulation of its slow wave activity offers a promising approach for regulating digestive function. Despite growing interest in targeting gastrointestinal slow waves with electrical pacing as a therapeutic strategy, current approaches remain limited by their reliance on invasive surgical access. Furthermore, studies investigating effective and reliable modulation with pacing of duodenal slow wave activity remain scarce. By enabling both invasive and minimally invasive targeted modulation of electrical activity, this work seeks to establish the foundations for next generation bioelectronic therapies of restoring gastrointestinal function and improving patient outcomes.</p></dc:description>
