<dc:description>
This open calibration model provides a lightweight method for checking basic dimensional consistency on an FDM 3D printer.

Its geometry is intentionally simple so that the final print can be measured quickly using digital calipers. Useful checks include X/Y dimensional accuracy, circular features, corner consistency, and general print behaviour.

A useful starting configuration is:

0.4 mm nozzle
0.20 mm layer height
PLA
15% infill
Supports disabled

Let the part cool before measuring. Repeat measurements and look for consistent differences rather than adjusting the printer based on one reading.

When troubleshooting, first determine whether the issue is connected to the physical printer, the filament profile, or the slicing process. Belt tension, extrusion, machine limits, temperature, and process settings can all influence the finished result.

For an overview of the main printer, filament, and process options, see the Orca Slicer configuration reference.

This model is shared as an independent community resource.
</dc:description>
