<dc:description>
This repository contains the anonymized research data and supporting materials from a prospective case–control study evaluating serum subfatin concentrations and their relationships with hormonal and metabolic parameters in adolescents with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), recently renamed polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS).

The study included adolescents aged 10–19 years who were classified into a PCOS/PMOS group and a healthy control group. The dataset comprises demographic and anthropometric characteristics, menstrual cycle features, serum subfatin concentrations, hormonal measurements, glycemic and lipid parameters, and calculated metabolic indices. It also includes the variables used in between-group comparisons, correlation analyses, and receiver operating characteristic curve analyses.

The primary objective was to compare serum subfatin concentrations between adolescents with PCOS/PMOS and healthy controls. Secondary objectives were to investigate the associations of subfatin with insulin, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, the triglyceride-to-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio, and other relevant hormonal and metabolic parameters, and to assess its potential diagnostic performance.

All participant data were anonymized before deposition. The files contain no names, identification numbers, contact details, or other directly identifying information. Variable names, coding conventions, measurement units, group definitions, and missing-data codes are provided in the accompanying data dictionary/readme file. These materials are shared to support transparency, reproducibility, and secondary research, subject to appropriate citation of the associated publication and this repository.
</dc:description>
