<dc:description><p dir="ltr">Data accompanying a preregistered, within-participant study examining whether the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) contributes causally to the production effect—the memory advantage of reading aloud over reading silently. Forty adults completed continuous, intermittent, and sham theta-burst stimulation sessions targeting the bilateral DLPFC. Following stimulation, participants studied words aloud or silently and completed a recognition test. Measures include recognition accuracy, response times, confidence ratings, and reported recollection.</p></dc:description>
