<dc:description>
This dataset was collected for an experimental study examining how resilience communication strategies and identity cues influence users’ experiences and continued use intention in the context of bedtime AI companionship. The study employed a 2 × 3 between-subjects factorial design, manipulating specific communication strategy (crafting normalcy vs. constructing alternative logics) and identity cues (photorealistic avatar with identity cues vs. cartoon avatar with identity cues vs. no avatar and no identity cues).

The dataset includes measures of usage need, perceived anthropomorphism, perceived enjoyment, continued use intention, manipulation checks, attention checks, and demographic characteristics. Usage need was measured as a continuous individual-difference variable. All data have been prepared for research sharing and are intended to support transparency and reproducibility of the study.
</dc:description>
