Processed data and reproducible analysis code for “Auditing Apparel Environmental Declarations for Sustainable Design: Lifecycle Profiles and Weighting Sensitivity in France’s 2025–2026 Register” YONG ZHANG (23932917) Accounting theory and standards Apparel environmental declarations <p dir="ltr">This dataset and code package supports the manuscript “Auditing Apparel Environmental Declarations for Sustainable Design: Lifecycle Profiles and Weighting Sensitivity in France’s 2025–2026 Register”.</p><p dir="ltr">The study uses the French national open dataset Affichage environnemental des vêtements. The analysed source file was updated on 27 August 2026 and contained 395,979 apparel environmental declarations. After applying the predefined eligibility, data-quality and formula-consistency criteria, 393,226 eligible GTIN declaration records were collapsed into 66,604 operational design/environmental-output profiles covering 11 garment categories and 110 anonymous brands.</p><p dir="ltr">The deposit contains: (1) the anonymized processed profile dataset; (2) a complete data dictionary; (3) source data underlying the main and supplementary figures and tables; and (4) Python scripts for data cleaning, statistical analysis, robustness testing, validation and figure generation.</p><p dir="ltr">The analyses examine category-level environmental-cost distributions, lifecycle composition, within-category lower-burden reference gaps, and sensitivity to alternative profile, GTIN, equal-brand and unique-output weighting schemes. Lifecycle composition is analysed using direct component shares, dominant-stage prevalence and centred log-ratio methods.</p><p dir="ltr">GTIN values, true brand names, internal reference strings and identifier lookup tables are not included. The source database is a voluntary declaration register and should not be interpreted as a probability sample or sales-weighted representation of the French apparel market. Environmental values are outputs of the official French environmental-cost model rather than independent physical measurements.</p><p dir="ltr">The original third-party CSV is not redistributed in this deposit. Its official URL, snapshot date, access date and SHA-256 checksum are documented in the README to support exact retrieval and reproducibility. The original dataset is available under France’s Open Licence 2.0.
