<dc:description>

This dataset contains supplementary research materials prepared for the study “Formalization of Elementary Senses for Ontology-Driven Knowledge Extraction from Scientific Publications”.

The dataset supports the formal and experimental analysis of elementary senses as an intermediate semantic representation between natural-language scientific text and ontology-aligned knowledge.

Five expert-annotated subcorpora of scientific publications are included. For each source sentence, the annotation contains decomposition into elementary senses (ES), subject–predicate–object (S–P–O) representations, and hierarchical context assignments (Cnt).

The five annotated subcorpora jointly contain 910 source sentences, 2322 elementary senses, 2322 S–P–O representations, and 4244 context assignments. Of the 2322 elementary senses, 1509 are associated with more than one context.

In addition, the dataset includes an ontograph file representing the hierarchical context structure used in the study.

The dataset also includes a hierarchical context ontograph used as the common context model for all five annotated subcorpora.

Files S1 and S3–S6 contain the expert-annotated corpora. File S2 contains the hierarchical context ontograph in VSDX format.

The materials support reproducibility of the structural analysis of sentence decomposition, S–P–O representation, and multi-context annotation described in the associated publication.

The dataset does not represent the output of a fully automated extraction system. Sentence decomposition, S–P–O representation, and context assignment were produced through expert annotation.

transdisciplinary research

S–P–O representation

context annotation
</dc:description>
