<dc:description>
The aim of this project was to explore the role of synchronous performance feedback in preservice teacher education. The research focussed on the development of a feedback taxonomy, the pilot of the taxonomy and hardware and the effects of the implementation on student teacher performance and self-efficacy. The project included multiple studies with a broad array of methods, such as literature reviews, teacher surveys, individual and group interviews and field experiments. These approaches are designed to gain insights into how synchronous feedback can be effectively implemented and the extent to which is is perceived as helpful for student teachers in comparison with more traditional asynchronous performance feedback. Ultimately, we sought to identify ways to enhance teacher performance whilst minimising classroom disruption and maniuplating teacher self-efficacy, a crucial aspect of teacher retention.

</dc:description>
