<dc:description>
This dataset supports a multivocal literature review of the technological sustainability of extended reality (XR) solutions applied to the preservation of digital cultural heritage. The review covers publications from 2020 to 3 March 2026 and examines four research questions addressing technological foundations, challenges, recent advances, and current limitations.

The workbook contains four worksheets:

Extraction Sheet: Bibliographic information, contribution types, XR technologies, thematic coding, and supporting evidence notes for 187 analyzed sources: 161 academic publications and 26 grey-literature sources.

Quality Assessment: Total quality scores assigned by three raters to 41 grey-literature sources, including 26 that met the inclusion threshold and 15 that did not.

Summary: Formula-based counts and charts describing the sources and their thematic classifications.

Excluded: The record of one academic source excluded because its content could not be accessed.

Of the 187 analyzed sources, 180 contributed codable evidence to at least one research question. Seven sources were retained to document the extraction process but did not contribute to thematic frequencies. Categories and research questions are non-exclusive: a source may contribute to several, so their frequencies should not be summed as independent evidence.

Technological sustainability is understood in terms of the continued operation, adaptability, interoperability, maintainability, scalability, reuse, and long-term digital preservation of XR solutions and their digital assets. Low cost is considered as an enabler of technological accessibility, rather than as evidence of economic sustainability.

The workbook is provided in English, with bibliographic titles and proper names retained in their original language. Source identifiers enable traceability between the extraction records and the manuscript’s supplementary tables.
</dc:description>
