<dc:description>
This dataset contains the experimental data and questionnaire responses collected in a controlled user study comparing two mobile Interactive Evolutionary Design (IED) systems: the baseline M-IEDS and the enhanced H-M-IEDS. The study investigates how interaction design can balance interaction simplicity with the richness of user preference expression in mobile human–computer collaborative design.

The dataset includes objective behavioral measures, such as the number of evolutionary generations, total evolutionary time, and individual evaluation time, as well as subjective questionnaire responses concerning perceived control, subjective cognitive load, and overall user evaluation. The dataset also contains data related to users’ preference evaluations and behavioral responses during the design process.

The experiment was conducted in the context of traditional Zhuang brocade pattern customization. The data were collected to examine the effects of the proposed Holistic Browsing–Local Focusing–Binary Evaluation interaction sequence and to investigate the Perceived Control Compensation Hypothesis in mobile Interactive Evolutionary Design.

These data support the statistical analyses and findings reported in the associated research article and may be used for research on human–computer interaction, interactive evolutionary design, user preference modeling, and human–computer collaborative creative design.
</dc:description>
