          <dc:description>A collection of 400 audio recordings of the 'a' vowel in words such as 'class', spoken in Northern and Southern British accents. These vowels were recorded in an experimental setup with 4 adult speakers. This data is suitable for tasks such as classifying accents or modelling North-South accent differences in this vowel.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Data record consists of a zip archive containing the audio data files and an accompanying readme file. The NSCV dataset comprises 400 audio files in WAV format with 16 kHz sampling rate, 16-bit resolution and mono channel. Each audio file contains a single vowel sound. The name of each audio file contains 5 identifiers, separated by '-' in this order: 1. Participant ID: P1, P2, P3 or P4 2. Word: 'class', 'grass', 'last', 'fast' or 'pass' 3. Accent: 'n' for Northern accent or 's' for Southern accent 4. Repetition: 1 to 5 5. Microphone: 'mic' is a DISDIM DI-19 PC microphone, and 'dict' is a Homder TF-85 Digital Voice Recorder Further information can be found in the accompanying readme file.</dc:description>
