<dc:description>
Data Repository Description

This repository contains the data, analytical files, and replication materials supporting the study “Closing the Universal Health Coverage Gap through Efficiency: A Bias-Corrected Bootstrap DEA Analysis of Health-System Performance in Sub-Saharan Africa.” The study covers 48 Sub-Saharan African countries from 2000 to 2023, with a 2022 efficiency benchmark based on 46 countries. The dataset integrates publicly available indicators from the World Development Indicators (WDI), Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI), WHO/World Bank UHC series, and related health-expenditure databases.

The repository includes variables on health expenditure, physicians, nurses and midwives, hospital beds, universal health coverage, health financing, institutional quality, socioeconomic conditions, and population health outcomes. It also contains materials used for variable-returns-to-scale Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), bootstrap bias correction, truncated-bootstrap regression, fixed-effects estimation, PCA governance robustness, sensitivity analysis, matched-year comparisons, and stochastic frontier analysis. The materials are provided to facilitate transparency, verification, and reproducibility of the study’s empirical results.
</dc:description>
