<dc:description>
This repository contains the supporting data and materials for the systematic review and meta-analysis entitled: "Extracellular Vesicles as Nanocarriers for Therapeutic Agent Delivery in Ischemic Stroke: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Animal Studies".

The repository includes the extracted quantitative data used for meta-analyses and the risk-of-bias assessment data from preclinical studies comparing therapeutic agent-loaded extracellular vesicles (EVs) with corresponding free therapeutic agents in animal models of ischemic stroke. The datasets include information used for analyses of infarct volume, neurological outcomes, brain accumulation of therapeutic agents, and additional comparisons between engineered therapeutic agent-loaded EVs and unmodified therapeutic agent-loaded EVs. Risk-of-bias assessments were performed using the SYRCLE risk-of-bias tool.

The completed PRISMA 2020 Checklist for this systematic review is also included in this repository. All data were extracted from published studies included in this systematic review. Quantitative analyses were performed using Review Manager (RevMan) version 5.4 and Stata version 17.0.
</dc:description>
