<dc:description><p>This study examines associations between exposure to AI-generated social media content and verification intention, with trust as an intervening statistical pathway and AI literacy as a moderator. A quantitative cross-sectional survey yielded 1,150 valid responses from a geographically diverse, university-centered convenience sample of social media users in Jordan. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) showed that exposure was negatively associated with trust in AI-generated content and positively associated with verification intention. Trust was negatively associated with verification intention, and the estimated indirect association through trust was significant. AI literacy was positively associated with verification intention and moderated the trust-verification association, which was weaker among respondents with higher AI literacy. These results extend research on AI communication, digital literacy, and misinformation by examining exposure, trust, and AI literacy within one integrated model. Because the design is cross-sectional and relies on self-reported intentions and convenience sampling, the findings indicate associations rather than causal effects and should not be generalized to all Jordanian social media users.</p></dc:description>
