<dc:description>
This dataset provides numerical results and MATLAB code supporting the manuscript “Hybrid alkaline-solid oxide electrolysis expands the gas-purity-constrained operating envelope of renewable hydrogen production”.

The archive includes model inputs, power-allocation results, hydrogen-production and techno-economic results, and dynamic hydrogen-in-oxygen (HTO) assessments. It covers 304 capacity-and-minimum-load candidates across 42 wind–photovoltaic pairings, together with all 42 complete dispatch schedules for the retained nominal configuration of 900 kW ET-AWE and 100 kW SOWE with a 19% ET-AWE lower operating boundary. Additional materials include parameter-sensitivity results, operating-scenario comparisons, corrected reference-state exergy accounting, and a PEM electrolysis literature-curve comparison and cost benchmark.

Dynamic HTO is assessed at operating transitions and at 60 s intervals during active oxygen production. The results represent model-based gas-purity feasibility assessments, not experimental plant safety certification. The included MATLAB verification routine checks archived numerical results and reproduces one complete approximately two-year nominal HTO trajectory; it does not regenerate every archived scenario. Full-batch requirements and limitations are documented in the README and reproducibility guide.

The renewable-generation input derives from the dataset of Chen (2022), Figshare, version 4 (https://doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.17304221.v4), released under CC0 and described by Chen and Xu (2022), Scientific Data 9, 577 (https://doi.org/10.1038/s41597-022-01696-6). Individual station files are not included in this archive; the dispatch schedules retain combined renewable-power inputs derived through normalization and wind–photovoltaic pairing. The underlying upstream records retain CC0 and are not relicensed by the authors.

Licence scope: CC BY 4.0 applies to the authors’ original data, figures and project documentation, except separately identified third-party material. Author-written source code and verification tools are separately licensed under MIT. Third-party material retains its applicable terms and is not relicensed by the authors.
