<dc:description>
Per-player aggregate data from Stockfish 18 analysis of over-the-board games by players rated 2400 and above. Three cohorts: modern (2015–2025), pre-engine control (1975–1990), and a held-out sample analyzed under a specification fixed in advance. One row per player giving hidden and obvious position counts, match totals, weighted rates and effective sample sizes at four margin caps, and the margin distribution among hidden positions. Position-level rows are not released, since the underlying games are public and could be matched back to individuals. Analysis code at github.com/arenemrikian-blip/otb-engine-prevalence.

Position-level data for all three cohorts, containing every field used in the analysis. Player, game and event identifiers are salted hashes: rows can be grouped by player, game and event, but cannot be matched to specific games in the source database. Date is reduced to year; opponent rating, result and move text are omitted as they are not used in the analysis. Per-player aggregates are also included.
</dc:description>
