<dc:description><p dir="ltr">Despite improvements in genomic surveillance coverage in dengue endemic settings, there is limited literature on the long-term evolutionary dynamics of DENV lineages that contribute to epidemics in hyperendemic settings. The present study aimed to address this knowledge gap by analysing serially collected DENV genomic surveillance data in Singapore, where DENV populations have closely been monitored since 2006 to facilitate outbreak risk assessment. The study investigated the long-term temporal dynamics of two DENV-3 genotype III lineages associated with two outbreaks in Singapore during 2019-2022. We hypothesized that the two lineages differ in intra-lineage haplotype composition, substitution patterns and temporal dynamics, and that overall diversity scales in parallel to transmission intensity.</p></dc:description>
