<dc:description>
This project characterizes the antigenic relationships among N1 neuraminidases (NA) derived from human, swine, and avian HxN1 viruses, while simultaneously evaluating cross-reactive population immunity in both adult and paediatric cohorts. To map the N1 antigenic landscape, we generated 12 recombinant H6N1 viruses to enable a focused assessment of NA antigenic diversity. The accompanying datasets are organized sequentially to align with the thesis and include the following five files:

A phylogenetic tree illustrating the genetic relationships of 466 N1 NA sequences, annotated by host origin.

Normalization calculations used to standardize and validate the NA activity of the recombinant viruses.

Neuraminidase inhibition (NAI) titres measured via Enzyme-Linked Lectin Assay (ELLA) using post-infection ferret antisera, defining the antigenic relationships among the 12 selected N1 viruses.

An antigenic cartography map generated from the ferret NAI data, alongside correlation analyses comparing antigenic distances to (i) phylogenetic tip-to-tip distances, (ii) overall amino acid sequence dissimilarity, and (iii) the number of substitutions at defined antigenic sites.

Population-level NAI titres measured via ELLA in human cohorts: an adult cohort (n=120, ages 18–65, sera collected 2023–2024) tested against 8 viruses, and a paediatric cohort (n=20, ages 4–6, sera collected 2021) tested against 4 viruses, to assess cross-reactive immunity.

</dc:description>
